BRAKE THEMPERATURE INDICATOR.

Brake temp panel
All main wheels have hydraulically operated disk brakes. Normally, the brakes are operated by both the left and right hydraulic system but either system can be cut out by a selector on the upper instrument panel. Full brake efficiency for landing is achieved even if operating on only one system.

Each system operates two brake valves, two accumulators, an ant-skid servo valve for each brake and a hydraulic brake pressure indicator. A hydraulic quantity limiter and lockout valve in each brake line, downstream of the servo valve, prevents total loss of fluid in case of a leak.

There is a temperature indicator for each brake an the R/P instrument panel. Brake wear is shown by an indicator on each brake.

A caution light on the annunciator panel will illuminate when the parking brakes are set. If takeoff thrust is applied with the brakes set, an intermittent takeoff warning will sound.

Brake temperature indicator.

Indicate brake temperature on each main wheel.
With test button depressed, the instrument shall indicate 250-350ºC (system test).
Max indicated brake temperature for before takeoff is 200ºC.

Due to lag in the brake temperature indicating system, peak temperature may not show until after approximately 15 minutes.
